INSTALLATION & UNINSTALLATION
Install by double-clicking 'setup.exe' in the folder Canopus Codec Option Ver 3.00
Uninstall via the [Control Panel] > [Add/Remove Applications].
OPERATION & LIMITATIONS
This software will install the following codecs:
- CANOPUS DV CODEC
- CANOPUS LOSSLESS CODEC
- CANOPUS HQ CODEC
These codecs are DECODE-ONLY, enabling you to VIEW files created by EDIUS Pro or Broadcast editing software, using Microsoft Windows Media Player.Please do not install this software to the PC already installed our High definition supported product. If you install it, you cannot capture a movie of these codec forms and make the AVI file.
The Canopus Codec Option (Full Version) is also available, enabling the above codecs to be used by any DirectShow-compliant application. The full version also includes the DVCPRO 50 & DVCPRO HD software codecs, developed in collaboration with Panasonic.

ABOUT THE CANOPUS DV CODEC
The Canopus DV codec provides fast DV and DVCAM processing in high quality, with little or no generational degradation and utilizing minimal CPU processing time. The Canopus DV codec is used by Canopus NLE editing systems and is still used in Grass Valley EDIUS.
ABOUT THE CANOPUS LOSSLESS CODEC
Based on the popular Huffman lossless algorithm, the Canopus Lossless Codec is fully optimised to be one of the fastest lossless codecs on the market.
ABOUT THE CANOPUS HQ CODEC
Built with Canopus Scalable Technology, this intermediate codec offers the highest image quality and performance available today in any HD editing platform.
The Canopus HQ codec not only provides superior Luma and Chroma sampling of HD video, but also features adjustable bitrate, for increased video quality when capturing and encoding on high-performance systems.
Canopus HQ can handle the following video resolutions:
- NTSC: 1080/60i, 720/60p, 720/30p, 480/60p
- PAL: 1080/50i, 576/50p, 576/25p
- Luma Sampling (pixels): 1440 x 1080
- Chroma Sampling (pixels): 720 x 1080
